This warp from last week is nearly finished! Here I’m weaving one of the final plaid napkins.
My weaving studio takes up a good portion of the basement, and with holiday guests arriving soon, it felt like the right moment to finish and fold the loom away. You technically can navigate around the loom to the guest bathroom, but I think it would be better to clear the path!
Clearing the space matters. So does vacuuming up the lint and stray bits of yarn that always seem to multiply as a warp comes to an end.
I’m looking forward to a quiet week with family – good food, slower days, and staying out of the studio for a bit!
Stepping away always gives my mind time to recalibrate. By the time I come back to the loom, I’m usually full of new ideas and ready to start again in the new year.
These towels and napkins will head to the shop after the holidays, once everything is finished and settled.
