There is truly nothing better than being inside, warm, and weaving on a fresh warp! The snow outside can do whatever it wants – I’ve got cloth to make.
Right now I’ve got washcloths and napkins on the loom, weaving two at a time, which feels very efficient. I’m playing with color changes and structure, enjoying this pattern but also fully aware that I’ll change it the moment I get bored. That’s part of the fun!
Once this warp is off, my next warp is going to be much more personal…. a baby blanket! You can read about it here in Studio Notes, but I won’t be posting on socials until after it is complete, since my brother might see it and I want it to be a surprise.
I’ll need to weave it in two panels so I can use my smaller 8-shaft loom, and I’m still deciding exactly how I want to approach it. I have one panel clearly in my head, but I’m torn on whether both panels should be identical, knowing full well there’s a very real chance they won’t line up perfectly.
